Adventurers' Guild — Field Report 5.4
Patch 5.4 Meta Teams & Spiral Abyss Domination
Patch 5.4 redefined the meta with Mavuika's release, cementing Pyro hypercarry as a premier playstyle. Meanwhile, Neuvillette + Furina remains the most reliable 36-star combo for players who value consistency over speedrun clips. This guide covers the four strongest teams, character rankings, and F2P alternatives that clear Floor 12.
I. 5.4 Character Tier List (Spiral Abyss Focused)
| Tier | Characters | Reason |
|---|---|---|
| S | Mavuika, Neuvillette, Furina, Bennett, Xilonen | Meta-defining, anchor multiple teams |
| A | Nahida, Kazuha, Zhongli, Arlecchino, Yelan | Strong but require specific teammates |
| A | Nilou, Alhaitham, Navia, Raiden, Kokomi | Excellent in their niche, inconsistent elsewhere |
| B | Wriothesley, Xiao, Itto, Cyno, Wanderer | High investment needed, team-dependent |
II. S-Tier Team: Mavuika Hypercarry
Team: Mavuika / Xilonen / Citlali / Bennett
Rotation: Mavuika E → Xilonen E Q → Citlali E Q → Bennett Q E → Mavuika Q + Charged Attack spam
Why it dominates: Mavuika's burst depends on Nightsoul stacks from Natlan teammates. Xilonen shreds enemy RES while Citlali provides Cryo application for Melt reactions. Bennett's ATK buff pushes Mavuika's burst into one-shot territory against stunned bosses. Without Xilonen or Citlali, Mavuika loses 40-50% damage — she is aggressively team-locked to Natlan supports.
Artifacts: Mavuika (Obsidian Codex 4pc), Xilonen (Scroll of the Hero 4pc), Citlali (Scroll 4pc or Tenacity), Bennett (Noblesse Oblige 4pc).
III. Most Consistent Team: Neuvillette + Furina
Team: Neuvillette / Furina / Kazuha / Zhongli (or Baizhu)
Rotation: Furina E Q → Zhongli E → Kazuha E Q → Neuvillette E Q + Charged Attack ×3
Why it's brain-dead easy: Neuvillette's Charged Attacks ignore positioning requirements and hit enemies in a massive horizontal beam. Furina's Fanfare stacks boost teamwide damage as HP fluctuates. Zhongli's shield eliminates all interruption risk. This team clears Floor 12 chambers with minimal effort at C0 with 4-star weapons.
Budget Alternative: Replace Zhongli with Layla (shield) and Kazuha with Sucrose (VV shred + EM share). Damage drops ~20% but still comfortably 36-stars.
IV. AoE Specialist: Nilou Bloom
Team: Nilou / Nahida / Kokomi / Dendro Traveler (or Collei)
Nilou Bloom excels against grouped enemies that aren't immune to Dendro damage. The current Abyss favors this team on the first half with its waves of mobs. Bountiful Cores ignore shields and deal true Dendro damage — ideal for shielded enemies that counter traditional DPS comps.
Warning: Nilou teams are hard-locked to Hydro + Dendro only. Bring a second team that can handle Cryo shields and single-target bosses.
V. Floor 12 Current Cycle Strategy
| Chamber | Enemies | Recommended Team | Key Tactic |
|---|---|---|---|
| 12-1 First | Multiple waves (slimes, hilichurls) | Nilou Bloom / Childe International | Group enemies with Kazuha/Sucrose, AoE down |
| 12-1 Second | Consecrated Beasts | Neuvillette + Zhongli | Shield mandatory — Beasts one-shot without protection |
| 12-2 First | Ruin Machines | Mavuika Hypercarry | Stun with bow shots to weak points, then nuke |
| 12-2 Second | Abyss Lector (Pyro/Electro) | Neuvillette / Ayato hydro spam | Hydro shreds both shields. Focus Lectors one at a time. |
| 12-3 First | Maguu Kenki | Mavuika / Arlecchino | i-frame his bladestorm, burst during recovery window |
| 12-3 Second | ASIMON + Ruin Drakes | Neuvillette + Furina | Apply Electro/aggravate to uncloak ASIMON |
