FIELD MANUAL — Super Earth Armory Division
Helldivers 2 Best Loadouts 2026 — Meta Builds for Every Front
The war for Super Earth has evolved. Update 6.1.0 brought the Illuminate officially into the fray as a full-fledged enemy faction, while the Automaton front grew deadlier with the arrival of "Cyborg" variants pushing hard on Cyberstan. On the bug front, new "Fleshmob" Terminid variants swarm in massive, lag-inducing hordes. If you are still dropping with last season's kit, you are a liability. This field manual covers the three faction-specific meta loadouts that define high-difficulty play in 2026.

I. The "Squid Squasher" — Best Illuminate Loadout
The Illuminate fight with high-tech energy shields, teleportation, and Exostorms — psionic weather events that reduce visibility and scramble targeting systems. Standard ballistic weapons bounce off their shields. You need energy-based, high-accuracy gear that bypasses defenses entirely.
Primary: PLAS-15 Loyalist
New from the Entrenched Division Warbond. This plasma rifle bypasses energy shields completely, making it the single best primary against Illuminate infantry. Charged shots stagger Adepts and strip Obelisk shields in two bursts.
Support Weapon: LAX-98 Laser Cannon
Infinite ammo is a godsend during prolonged Exostorms when resupply drops are suicide runs. The continuous beam melts through both shields and armor, and the cooldown-based heat mechanic means you never run dry. Hold the trigger and sweep.
Must-Have Stratagem: A/M-23 EMS Mortar Sentry
The Illuminate's fast-moving bipedal walkers will outrun your aim under normal conditions. The EMS Mortar slows them to a crawl, letting your squad focus fire safely. Deploy it on elevated terrain with clear sightlines for maximum coverage.
Full Squid Squasher Loadout
| Slot | Pick | Role |
|---|---|---|
| Primary | PLAS-15 Loyalist | Shield bypass, Adept stagger |
| Secondary | P-4 Senator | Finish off unshielded Observers |
| Grenade | G-23 Stun | Freeze bipedal walkers for team focus fire |
| Support | LAX-98 Laser Cannon | Sustained DPS through Exostorms |
| Stratagem 1 | A/M-23 EMS Mortar Sentry | Area slow, walker control |
| Stratagem 2 | Shield Generator Pack | Survive psionic burst attacks |
| Stratagem 3 | Orbital Precision Strike | Eliminate Obelisk clusters |
II. The "Clanker Crusher" — Best Automaton/Cyborg Loadout
The Automaton front has become the game's hardest challenge. The new Cyborg variants — heavily armored, explosive-resistant, and equipped with roundhouse-kick melee attacks — demand high-explosive armor penetration at all ranges. Medium penetration is the minimum.
Primary: JAR-5 Dominator
Still the undisputed king for staggering Heavy Devastators. The Dominator's explosive rounds punch through medium armor and the stagger interrupts bot firing sequences, buying your team critical seconds to reposition. Pairs perfectly with Fortified armor passive for recoil control.
Support Weapon: AC-8 Autocannon
The gold standard of Automaton combat. Versatile against Hulks, Devastators, and Gunships. Takes out Fabricators from across the map with a single shot to the vent. Reloads faster than any comparable heavy weapon. The backpack slot is worth it — this is the best anti-bot support weapon in the game.
Must-Have Stratagem: Orbital Laser
Three uses per mission, 300-second cooldown. The Orbital Laser sweeps across Automaton bases automatically, igniting the ground and eliminating everything in its path. Use it to clear large outposts without ever stepping inside and risking ragdoll death from rocket barrages.
Full Clanker Crusher Loadout
| Slot | Pick | Role |
|---|---|---|
| Primary | JAR-5 Dominator | Stagger, medium armor penetration |
| Secondary | GP-123 Grenade Pistol | Fabricator destruction, Strider kills |
| Grenade | G-23 Stun | Freeze Hulks for eye shots |
| Support | AC-8 Autocannon | All-purpose heavy weapon |
| Stratagem 1 | Orbital Laser | Base clearing, panic button |
| Stratagem 2 | Eagle 500KG Bomb | Factory Strider elimination |
| Stratagem 3 | Rocket Sentry | Anti-Gunship, long-range coverage |
III. The "Exterminator" — Best Terminid Loadout
The bug front has transformed. New Fleshmob variants move in massive, screen-filling swarms that will lag your game and overwhelm traditional single-target builds. Sustained crowd control and area denial are now mandatory. You are not killing individual bugs — you are deleting waves.
Primary: SG-225 Breaker
The Breaker's high fire rate remains the best tool for clearing small-fry Hunters and Scavengers before they close distance. The spread pattern covers the entire swarm front, and the stagger interrupts leaping attacks. Still the #1 bug primary after all these patches.
Support Weapon: GL-28 Belt-Fed Grenade Launcher
A new addition that has completely changed the Terminid meta. The belt-fed mechanism allows sustained crowd control without constant reload pauses. Fire into Bug Breaches and watch the kill count climb. Handles Charger groups when aimed at unarmored legs.
Must-Have Stratagem: Eagle Cluster Bomb
Nothing clears a Bug Breach faster. The Cluster Bomb carpet-covers the spawn point with explosive submunitions. Timing is everything — throw the beacon the moment you see the orange breach smoke, and the Eagle arrives before the first bugs surface.

| Stratagem 1 | Eagle Cluster Bomb | Bug Breach wipe |

V. Universal Loadout Principles for 2026
- Match your primary to the enemy defense type. Energy weapons for Illuminate shields. Explosive medium-pen for Automaton armor. High fire rate for Terminid swarms.
- Every loadout needs one panic button. Orbital Laser, Eagle 500KG, or Eagle Cluster Bomb. Something that deletes a bad situation without requiring aim.
- Stun grenades are S-tier against Automatons. Freezing a Hulk for an eye shot is worth more than any frag grenade.
- Fleshmob variants demand area denial. Gas strikes, incendiary grenades, and sentry turrets. Single-target builds will get overrun.
- Upgrade your ship modules. Faster Eagle rearm, shorter sentry deployment, and reduced orbital cooldowns compound across an entire operation.
Remember: Managed Democracy is non-negotiable. Equip correctly. Spread liberty. One planet at a time.
