Hades 2: Best Weapons & Keepsakes

All Aspects Ranked — Omega Attack Mechanics — Boss Strategies — Updated for Early Access June 2026

Overview

Hades 2's early access has already expanded significantly. The roster now includes five Nocturnal Arms (weapons), each with three Aspects that fundamentally change their playstyle. The new Omega Attack mechanic — a charged variant of each weapon's standard attack that consumes Magick — adds a resource management layer that rewards careful positioning and timing. This guide ranks all weapon Aspects, pairs them with optimal Keepsake combinations, and provides boss-specific strategies for each region.

All Weapons & Aspects Ranked

S Witch's Staff (Descura) — Aspect of Melinoe / Circe / Momus

Melinoe — Faster Omega Cast Circe — Serenity buff after Omega Momus — Restore HP on Omega kill

The Witch's Staff is Melinoë's starting weapon and remains the most versatile. Its standard attacks cover mid-range, while the Omega Attack fires a wider blast that pierces enemies. Aspect of Melinoe is the best all-rounder: the faster Omega Cast speed lets you weave charged attacks into combos without getting punished. Pair with Silver Wheel (Hecate) keepsake for Magick regeneration — you can sustain near-continuous Omega Attacks.

S Sister Blades (Lim & Oros) — Aspect of Artemis / Pan / Eos

Artemis — Dash-strike crit chance Pan — Omega cast follows you Eos — Day/Night stance swap (new EA update)

The Sister Blades (dual daggers) offer the highest DPS in the game. Aspect of Pan is currently the strongest Aspect — the Omega Cast projectile orbits Melinoë, dealing continuous damage while you dash-strike. This essentially doubles your damage output during Omega windows. Combined with Evil Eye (Narcissus) keepsake for +30% damage to the last enemy that killed you (stacks on boss revenge runs), the Sister Blades shred through regional bosses.

A Umbral Flames (Ygnium) — Aspect of Apollo / Hestia / Persephone

Ranged torch projectiles with an Omega that creates orbiting flame spheres. Aspect of Hestia increases Omega damage by 40% per orbiting flame — with 6 flames active, you melt bosses. Excellent for safe, ranged playstyles.

A Moonstone Axe (Zorephet) — Aspect of Thanatos / Charon / Nyx

Slow but massively damaging melee weapon. Aspect of Thanatos adds a critical hit on every third swing. The Omega Attack creates a shockwave that hits the entire screen. Best paired with Knuckle Bones (Odysseus) for damage reduction while charging slow attacks.

B Argent Skull (Revaal) — Aspect of Hades / Persephone / Medea

Ammo-based ranged weapon with 3 skull charges. Aspect of Medea (newest Aspect) adds poison to skull hits. Niche but powerful in specific boss encounters where you can maintain distance. Requires more game knowledge to use effectively.

Omega Attack Mechanics Explained

Every weapon in Hades 2 has an Omega Attack — a charged version that consumes Magick (the blue bar under your HP). To execute: hold the Attack button until Melinoë glows, then release. Key properties:

Regional Boss Strategies

FAQ

Q: What's the best weapon to clear a full run with?

The Sister Blades with Aspect of Pan + Evil Eye keepsake is the current speedrun meta. The orbiting Omega Cast projectile effectively doubles your DPS, and the dash-strike playstyle is naturally evasive. Clear times under 15 minutes are achievable with this setup.

Q: How do I unlock new Aspects?

Defeat bosses with each weapon 3 times to unlock additional Aspects. Aspect of Momus (Staff) requires 3 Hecate kills with the Staff. Aspect of Pan (Blades) requires 3 Scylla kills with the Blades.

Q: Should I always use Omega Attacks?

Not always. Omega Attacks consume Magick, and running out of Magick during a boss fight leaves you with only basic attacks. Use Omega Attacks when you have a clear opening — during boss recovery animations or after a dash to safety. Don't overcommit.

The Fates Have Spoken

Hades 2's weapon variety and Keepsake system create deep build diversity even in early access. The Sister Blades with Aspect of Pan currently represent the damage ceiling, while the Witch's Staff offers the safest, most consistent clears for new players. Master the Omega Attack timing — it's the difference between a 30-minute struggle and a 15-minute speedrun. Pair Silver Wheel (Hecate) with Magick-hungry builds and Evil Eye (Narcissus) for revenge runs against bosses that killed you previously. The Crossroads awaits, witch.
